The Happy Prince

Read a brief summary of the fairy tale. Choose the right verbs.

After his death, rich people {put;made;took} up a statue with the Happy Prince and {made;put;kept} him immortal for his good deeds. At that time, being a smiling, gilded statue on the top of a pillar, the Prince {could_see;could_know;could_take} all the misery of the poor in his town, which {caused;made;kept} him deep sorrow. He {felt;saw;made} pity for them and {kept;made;longed} asking the Swallow, which {nested;kept;died} at his feet, to be his messenger and help the impoverished ones. Rather reluctantly, as he {knew;saw;longed} winter was coming and he {longed;felt;kept} for warmer places, the Swallow {followed;kept;made} his orders and day by day he {took;felt;put} the Prince's precious stones and leaves of fine gold to the most needy ones in town. How happy they both {made;came;felt} them! Winter {came;broke;stopped} and the little bird could not stand the cold, so he {died;nested;broke} . And the Prince's leaden heart {broke;nested;longed} too.
