• It is a symbol of everlasting love.
• Padlocks are litter for the environment.
• 700,000 padlocks now seen in different locations cause huge damage to the city's architecture.
• If one puts the lock in a public place and throws away the key, the love it represents will become unbreakable.
• The padlocks symbolize hearts of those who have sealed their undying love for each other to the bridges.
• A solid wall of metal is inappropriate for the cities like Paris or Ljubljana.
• Some people describe these love locks as 'madness'.
• Somebody said: “It's a nice way to deposit something somewhere, and know (or at least hope) that it will be there if, and when, you ever return".
• What if this metal wall falls on a lot of tourist boats that pass under it?
• We should encourage tourists to send a digital 'e-love lock' instead.
• It would be a shame to lose all of those locks, which hold so many memories for people.

Dear municipal authorities,

I am writing to you to express my opinion about the places worldwide where sweethearts lock their love padlock to a bridge.

Firstly, these padlocks are a symbol of everlasting love. The padlocks symbolize hearts of those who have sealed their undying love for each other to the bridges. Furthermore, if one puts the lock in a public place and throws away the key, the love it represents will become unbreakable. And finally, somebody said: “It's a nice way to deposit something somewhere, and know (or at least hope) that it will be there if, and when, you ever return".

I totally disagree with some people who say that these padlocks are litter for the environment and cause huge damage to the city's architecture. I think that these love locks are not a 'madness'.  It would be a shame to lose all of those locks, which hold so many memories for people. I am one of them. I also left one memory on the bridge in Ljubljana. My love is there locked forever.
