Talk in pairs. Decide who is going to be Student A and who is going to be Student B. Student A reads a sentence and Student B restructures this same sentence using ‘needn't’.
Pogovarjaj se v parih. S sošolcem/sošolko se odločita, kdo bo učenec A in kdo učenec B. Učenec A prebere poved in učenec B pove isto poved s strukturo ‘needn't’.
I don't know why we study so hard.
I don't know why we buy so much food.
I don't know why he hurry.
I don't know why they leave so early.
I don't know why he is reading the whole book.
I don't know why she is cancelling the party.
Need to izraža obvezo in nujnost. Je zelo blizu modalnemu glagolu must.
Needn’t pomeni, da nekaj ni nujno storiti in se ne more enačiti z mustn’t, ki pomeni prepoved.
Primer: You needn't water the grass (means ‘You don't have to water the grass’ and has different meaning to You mustn't water...)
You’ve got plenty of time. You needn’t hurry. (It’s not necessary to hurry.)
Namesto needn’t lahko uprabimo tudi don’t /doesn’t need to.
Write about your water-saving etiquette. Do you appreciate water? Do you take it for granted? Think about having showers, baths, brushing teeth, washing cars, watering gardens and using dishwashers and washing machines. Write 150-180 words.
Piši o svojem načinu uporabe vode. Jo dovolj ceniš? Jo imaš za samoumevno? Razmisli o tuširanju, kopanju, umivanju zob, umivanju avtomobila, zalivanju vrta in uporabi pomivalnega ter pralnega stroja. V zvezek napiši besedilo, ki vsebuje 150 do 180 besed.
