FAMILY TYPES
People live in many different kinds of families. List the types you know and figure out what they are called in English. Next, do the  task on the next page and learn about the most common family types.

Read the descriptions of the most common family types and choose the right names from the list.

{nuclear_family;extended_family;blended_family;foster_family} : It is composed of two biological parents and their children. It is the most common type and was long considered as the ideal family structure.
{single-parent_family;childless_family;foster_family;nuclear_family} : It includes one parent (usually a single mother) and her or his children.
{extended_family;nuclear_family;blended_family;cohabiting-couple_family} : This family type involves many relatives who live together. It can include aunts, uncles, grandparents, or cousins. Family members help raising children and do the housework.
{childless_family;cohabiting-couple_family;nuclear_family;foster_family} : It consists of a husband and wife living together.
{blended_family;extended_family;foster_family;cohabiting-couple_family} : This type of family includes two separate families forming a new unit of a husband and wife and their children from previous marriages or relationships.
{foster_family;blended_family;extended_family;childless_family} : It includes a family in which some or all children are adopted.
{cohabiting-couple_family;single-parent_family;foster_family;blended_family} : This type of family consists of an unmarried couple and their children.
